I received samples in exchange for my honest review.
Update: Please read the update at the bottom of this post. This product has been discontinued.
As a mom, I am a big label reader. Between my son Harley’s peanut allergy and my own desire to choose ingredients that feel safe and wholesome for my family, I always pay close attention to what is in the foods we bring home.
That is why I was excited to hear about Jell-O Simply Good, a line of Jell-O products made with simple ingredients and no artificial dyes, colors, or preservatives. We already enjoy fun treats as a family, so I loved the idea of having an option that felt a little better for us.
First Impressions of Jell-O Simply Good
When the box arrived, I let the kids open it without realizing exactly what was inside. They were so excited to find a variety of Jell-O Simply Good products, including gelatin and pudding mixes in several delicious flavors.

One of the things I have always liked about Jell-O is how quick and easy it is to prepare. The kids love being involved in the kitchen, and these mixes gave them a fun way to help make dessert without a lot of complicated steps.
Trying the Simply Good Gelatin
My younger daughter can be a little picky about food, so I let her choose the first flavor. She picked the Strawberry Gelatin, which turned out to be a great choice. There were four Simply Good gelatin flavors, so everyone had fun deciding which one to try first.
The gelatin was very easy to make. You simply mix the powder with hot water and then let it chill in the fridge. Since it only requires mixing, the kids were able to help make it themselves, with supervision because of the hot water.
They loved watching it turn from liquid into a wiggly dessert, and of course, they loved eating it even more.
Making the Simply Good Pudding
The pudding line also came in four tasty flavors. We do not usually make pudding very often, but once we tried these, we found ourselves making one almost every night. Between the four of us, the whole bowl disappeared quickly.
The first pudding flavor the kids chose was Chocolate, which did not surprise me at all. Chocolate is always a favorite in our house.
Just like the gelatin, the pudding was very simple to prepare. You mix the pudding powder with milk, let it chill in the fridge, and it is ready to serve.
A Fun Dessert for the Kids
Of course, the chocolate pudding quickly turned into a “dirt and worms cup.” We keep dye-free and nut-free treats in our pantry because of food allergy concerns, so the kids were thrilled to create a fun dessert that worked for our family.
It was one of those simple after-dinner treats that felt special without taking much time or effort.
My Favorite Flavor

One of my personal favorites was the Vanilla Bean Pudding. It reminded me of my childhood because my mom used to make tapioca pudding all the time. The vanilla flavor brought back that same cozy, homemade dessert feeling.
It was smooth, sweet, and comforting, and it made a simple weeknight dessert feel a little nostalgic.
Why We Enjoyed Jell-O Simply Good
Jell-O Simply Good took a familiar, fun product and made it feel like a better choice for families who care about ingredients. I loved that it had no artificial dyes, colors, or preservatives, and the kids loved that they could pick their own flavors and help make them.
These pudding and gelatin packets were easy to prepare, fun for the kids, and perfect for sharing after dinner. Every night, we looked forward to trying another flavor together.
For our family, Jell-O Simply Good was a nice balance of fun, convenience, and ingredients I felt better about serving.
Update: Jell-O Simply Good Has Been Discontinued

After trying to find this product again and not seeing it in stores, I looked online and found that Jell-O Simply Good has been discontinued.
Since then, I have found other similar options. Amazon has plenty of vegan gelatin-style dessert options, and stores like Whole Foods may also carry natural pudding or gelatin alternatives with simpler ingredients.
While I am disappointed that Jell-O Simply Good is no longer available, I am glad we had the chance to try it. It was a fun product for our family, and it introduced us to the idea of looking for more simple-ingredient dessert options.
